Europe 2015!

I've had a huge European/UK summer performing at some of the major music and arts festivals, as well as seeing a metric fuck ton of shows. Alongside performing in a different city every week, just after I left Australia back in June I found out that I had received an ArtStart grant to support a period of professional development visiting festivals and watching contemporary physical and immersive theatre. So it has been a massive trip!

Some of the highlights have been

- featuring in the Circus and Theatre program at Glastonbury, as well as MCing one of the main venues in Shangri-La. All up I did 10 shows over the 4 days!

- opening the World Turbojugend Festival (which people come to from all over Europe and the world) with Elle Diablo and performing a killer set at Queen Calavera in Hamburg - the appropriately titled and world-famous Home of Burlesque!

- Spending two weeks at the Edinburgh Fringe, performing every night with the Interstellar Cabaret to great crowds and getting to see about a dozen amazing shows (and some shit ones too!)

- And of course this notorious moment where I decided to try out a new stunt in front of 600 people in a massive circus tent as the opening act for one of my favourite punk bands of all time, The Subhumans! It was truly uplifting!

I'll have some fun stuff coming up in Australia over the coming Summer - and I'm also now taking bookings for 2015/2016, so if you need a mischevious and enthusiastic carny to MC your event or perform death defying circus-sideshow acts, please get in touch via the contact form!

Rock n Roll!

Death Machine! (Or The Machine That May Or May Not Produce Death!)

A new video arrived in my inbox today, courtesy of the good folks at Ballarat's FedUniLive course. Filmed at the recent World Sideshow Festival, this is the first footage of my brand new and world first escape from what is essentially a home made gas chamber, or death machine. The escape has to take place within the limits of one breath to avoid asphyxiation. Developed originally as part of BUNKER, this routine is now available for bookings.

Today i've also cleaned up the Shows section of the website so you can now watch promo reels for all the shows I am involved in. Enjoy!

Upside Down Straitjacket Escape!

Captain Ruin's incredible upside down straitjacket escape, as performed at the Sydney Road street Party in March 2015.

Hanging 8m in the air by just his ankles, this acrobatic and highly dangerous escape is completed by Captain Ruin in just 1 minute!

Available for bookings where-ever technical conditions allow.

Mad March

The Fringe is over! Here is a delightful shot of the Imaginarium and staff on our closing night in Adelaide. We had a fantastic season, smashing out hundreds of 15min shows over the 5 weeks, and making thousands of people laugh - a worthy endeavour indeed!

And now it's back to Melbourne for plenty more fun. GrrlFest is this weekend! I'll be Production Managing, but if you can spot me behind my clipboard, come and say hi!

And then coming up the weekend after is the return of one of my favourite gigs from last year - HOWL! I'll be on MC duties once more, so make sure you get your tickets so as not to miss out on a huge night of wild women and mad men!
